Részvételi lehetőség nemzetközi szemináriumon angol nyelven Lettországban 2013 szeptember végén, a szeminárium témája:

Upcycling - vagyis mások által értéktelennek, "hulladéknak" ítélt tárgyak újjászületése, átalakítása kreatív, művészi módon a fenntarthatóság jegyében.

A program magyar partnere, a Pandora Egyesület keretében 4 fő vehet részt a rendezvényen, melyet Lettországban tartanak. A program költségeit az európai projekt fedezi, a résztvevőknek csak az útiköltség 30%át kell fizetniük. A programra részben az Upcycling iránt érdeklődőket, azt művelőket, részben az e témában programokat népszerűsítő környezeti nevelőket, NGO munkatársakat, szervezőket várnak.

The seminar"Give a chance to UPCYCLING” will take place from 25th of September(arrival day) till 2nd of October (departure day) in Latvia.
Venue: Guest house "Turbas", Tīnūžu administrative district, countryside teritory of Ikšķile town

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
“Give a chance to UPCYCLING!” is a youth seminar taking place in Latvia. It is aimed at popularization of practical approaches of upcycling in various aspects of our lives. Concept of upcycling is defined here as part of environmental thinking and sustainable development (resource management) in the modern consumer society.

24 participants - four from six countries (Latvia, Armenia, Sweden, Hungary, Ukraine, Georgia) and 4 experts, who all are actively engaged in upcycling field either as

• authors of creative ideas and approaches, or
• as event and action organizers, who have experience in promoting ideas with help of state, NGO and private institutions.

A theoretical introduction by the experts, comparing topical presentations, expert activities, successful upcycling methodology / format / project presentations, practical try-out of one of the upcycling formats, an open space forum will be used as methods during the 6 days of project implementation.
Ideas and important information will be continuously gathered during the project event days and used as basis to create a “good practice manual” for promoting the approach of upcycling in local communities and international youth field.
The manual and new gained experience will be a “take-away” to each local community and thus will be spread around and attract further new participants for similar topical projects as well as attracting public attention to YiA program and spread the understanding and acceptance of upcycling in society in general and activate them.
The seminar will bring together people active in upcycling and youth field and will be an opportunity to develop a long lasting continuous cooperation in upcycling field between participating organizations and individuals from various represented countries.

Costs:
Accommodation, food and activities are fully covered by the organizers.
The organizers will reimburse 70% of participants' travel costs (with cheapest mean of transportation, only economy class, no taxi, under the agreed budget) upon presentation of original tickets, invoices and boarding tags.

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

Participants should be people, who are engaged in upcycling, or related creative or/and environmental field either as
• authors of creative ideas and approaches, or
• as event and action organizers, who have experience in promoting ideas with help of state, NGO and private institutions or
•people interested in the topic and willing to learn.

Participants should be at least 18 years old and most important have background and experience connected to the topic, as the seminar will be an exchange of different ideas and approaches already in use.

The language of the youth exchange will be English. Therefore it is highly recommended that participants are able to communicate in English. If it causes any problems for some of the participants – please let us know and we will try to find a solution.
