Aki velem jön, nagy-nagy kedvezményt kaphat a workshop árából.

A workshop leírása:
RESTORATION AGRICULTURE WORKSHOP
29.3.-1.4.2016. at the Recycled Estate, Vukomerić, Croatia

Restoration Agriculture is a unique approach in food production and landscape design that has many long term benefits on environmental, social and economic levels. Restoration Agriculture works toward the creation of an ecologically healthy food system, culture and economy by tackling food production, availability and supply, and energy while restoring functional ecosystems as the context for economically viable farm operations. It is a whole-systems ecological land use planning strategy with an emphasis on Agroforestry practices and Restoration Agriculture design. Perennial crops, livestock, fungus, and pollinators are integrated to produce abundant food, fiber, and fuel crops while simultaneously restoring critical ecosystem services such as carbon sequestration, water purification and infiltration, nutrient cycling, and biodiversity.

During a 4 day hands-on Restoration Agriculture workshop at the Recycled Estate in Vukomerić, from the 29th of March till the 1st of April 2016, Mark Shepard will present methodologies, techniques and practices of agroforestry farming.
The workshop will bring the carbon farming conversation full circle by integrating Permaculture Design, Holistic Management, Keyline Design, whole living ecosystems, ecological restoration and production agriculture. Participants will be introduced to biome and natural plant community mimicry as a method of designing permanent agricultural systems and the strategic how-to’s of input-based agriculture. Participants will immerse into Restoration Agriculture beginning with Agroforestry techniques of Alley Cropping and multi-species Silvopasture grazing, as well as water management systems based on natural patterns.
Workshop topics:
Theory and practice of Restoration Agriculture
Biome identification and ecology (tour & observation)
Keyline Design and water management (surveying and mapping keylines)
Perennial crop establishment, maintenance, and breeding
Putting skills to use
Integrated multi-species grazing & management
Restoration Agriculture economics

Presentation and workshop for a wider group of participants on Restoration Agriculture economics, models and practices will be held at the Third Conference on Good Economy, which will take place from March, 31st to April, 2nd 2016.
Workshop topics:
Restoration Agriculture economics
Devising a conversion plan suited for a specific ecological context, as well as a specific community and economic process
Sharing experience on the implementation of selected practices
