In these difficult planetary times the global crisis is experienced in many areas of our lives. The instable economic situation, the degradation of landscapes and living environments, the spiritual vacuum and the longing for real community are symptoms of a large-scale transformation and systemic change going on all over the world. The question is where this transformation leads us. Are we heading towards a Life Sustaining Society, towards the Earth Community or are we facing the irreversible destruction of Planet Earth and her Peoples?
In order to respond to the challenges of these times the word “sustainability” needs to be reinterpreted in a more holistic sense. The Mandala of Sustainability consists of 5 parts: community, ecology, economy, culture/spirituality and the integral element – the complex web of relations connecting the four aspects.
Our seminar aims to develop a holistic worldview amongst the participants by sharing knowledge and experience of their work on the field of sustainability and environmental/global education, by getting to know new approaches and by developing future projects in this spirit.
The program is built on different methods of non-formal education (e.g. Open, Space, World Café) as well as on fresh approaches towards sustainability work (e.g. Work That Reconnects, Dragon Dreaming, Permaculture, Wilderness Education).
